Solo Paragliding

Solo paragliding is only for experienced paragliders who are knowledgeable about the local mountain aerology.

Currently Thollon has:

  • 2 take-off pads: at the top of Mémises, at the cable car embarkation point, or at Hucel.
  • 2 landing pads: in Thollon village, or in Troubois in Lugrin.

The map and local information are available on a panel in front of the Thollon Tourist Office.

Important: paragliding may have complications depending on weather conditions, notably the wind. Mountain aerology varies throughout the day, an easy take-off in the morning can become more difficult in the afternoon.

To access the departure point you will need a Thollon lift pass:

  • Pass with 5 trips costs €25
  • Pass with 10 trips costs €45

Tandem Paragliding

Jean-Claude Bétemps, one of the paragliding pioneers in 1978, and his team Air Léman, welcome you in Thollon-les-Mémises, to offer tandem first flights (1250m vertical elevation).

You have the choice between these two flights:

The Panoramic Flight

You will leave on a magnificent aerial journey that offers an exceptional and unique view across Lake Léman and be able to discover and admire its characteristic croissant- shape. You will begin by flying over the mountains and land to arrive up above Lake Léman between the deep blue hues of the water, the rich green landscape and the azure blue sky.

The Educational Flight

This is the Panoramic flight with an additional basic lesson to teach turns, heading hold, and braking. The aim is to experiment with piloting skills, to see how it feels in your hands to enter a turn, and gently engage the wing.

You will experience this flight at your own pace to acquire the rudiments of your new passion. The aim is to learn piloting basics and most importantly to have fun! For both options the flight includes the cable car fare, return to the village, insurances and a video of your flight.

Tandem first flight: €120 (Panoramic and Educational flights)

Independently to this first flight, Air Léman offers initiation and refresher courses. throughout the summer. For more information please call: 06 27 01 28 68.
